A book festival may make you think of libraries and being forced to read Shakespeare at school; but fear not! The seventh annual Lincoln Book Festival, which runs throughout May, has some impressive guests coming to the city.
The Lincoln Performing Arts Center presents Desert Island Books
Inspired by the classic Radio 4 feature ‘desert island discs’, a number of well-known faces will be appearing at the LPAC to share which books they would take with them on a desert island. On Thursday 13th May, novelist Alex Preston and popstar brother of Ordinary Boys fame (Samuel) Preston; will be at the LPAC sharing their desert island books. Then on Saturday 15th May, theater star, television and film actor, author and director Simon Callow joins the desert island books team.
Don’t miss author of the Alex Rider books and screen writer for Foyles War and Midsomer murders Anthony Horowitz, at the Drill Hall on Wednesday 12th May. Then actress and Loose Women panelist Lynda Bellingham discusses her autobiography ‘Lost and Found’, on Friday 14th May.
