The Laughing Buddha offers a wide choice of authentic cuisine within the buffet, including; Chinese, Japanese, Malaysian, Thai and Indo-Chinese, thus catering for many tastes. Particular Japanese dishes are cooked within the view of the customer, demonstrating the skill of the chefs and incorporating a sense of culture to the experience.

Lincolnista Review

Long queues, rather cold food and a ridiculously expensive drinks menu to make up for the negotiated label. A pattern that many who cannot resist the ‘All You Can Eat’ temptation usually encounter! But I must say, from (too much) personal experience, this is most definitely not the case when eating at The Laughing Buddha.

A banquet of oriental delights awaits each and every customer, and the food seems to be regularly replaced so that it is fresh and most importantly hot for all and not just those who manage to barge their way in first.

At a reasonable size, never have I encountered the restaurant to be ‘quiet’, but within this the staff do strive to ensure that all are seated appropriately so that the room is not uncomfortably crowded – an important factor when carrying that sixth course back to the table and having to avoid throwing it over others in the process.

The comfortable furnishings finish off a relaxed setting, encouraging a casual environment in which the individual can experience and explore a range of authentic tastes. No doubt many will find this much more satisfying than having to wolf down a few portions of rice, chips and curry so that the next customer can take the table.

I am a regular attendee of the student nights on Thursday’s and Sunday’s. At just a fiver, I can eat until it hurts, and I seize this opportunity as much as possible! My only complaint is within the prices of the drinks, which seem to heighten the bill to a much larger amount, but the overall price and quality of food is still unbeatable in my opinion.

The walk home after eating several courses purely ‘because it says you can’ isn’t as pleasant and usually consists of me and my companions doubled over and crying out for a taxi…

Definetly the right place to go if you are looking for a quality chinese buffee in a relaxed and casual environment. Location is great to as it is just a walk away from most of the bars and nightlife, so if you are in a group you can make a night of it! (if you can manage it after however many courses).
