Lincolnista Review

What I would like to be writing about is a fantastic new restaurant, great range of drinks and beautiful decor, but instead what I will be writing about is the one event that spoilt the whole occasion. We chose Prezzo as the venue to send off our Italian friend with some Italian style, unfortunately my food came accompanied by a sharp piece of plastic about the size of a 5 pence piece. Not a huge problem, it was clearly off some packaging in the kitchen and whilst it wasn’t pleasant picking it out of my mouth it was shrugged off and we continued to enjoy the meal.

When the waitress came round to collect my plate I asked her to let the kitchen know that I’d found a piece of plastic in my pizza as I was quite sure the chef would want to know so that he may prevent it from happening again. What was about to happen though came straight out of left field. The very rude waitress who obviously missed the customer service part of her induction process picked the piece off plastic out of my hand, stared at it and asked “Are you sure this was in your food?”

Slightly taken aback I had to pause for a second before realising she wasn’t joking. So it would appear that Prezzo believes its customers carry around bits of plastic to put in their food for the fun of it. I assured the waitress that not only was it in my food but that I’d had the pleasure of removing if from my mouth. Her response wasn’t a sincere apology, or indeed any kind of apology, or indeed anything. She just huffed and walked off.

So who cares what the food, drink, decor or ambience is like; until Prezzo put a little bit more effort into staff training then we won’t be going back again.

Myself and my partner have visited prezzo many times because we enjoyed the food despite the poor service of most of the staff. Just recently, I started feeling ill after visiting and having diarrhea around an hour after leaving. I just put this down to the rich flavours and cream irritating my stomach, however I recently switched to tomato flavour pastas yet I was still ill the last two times we visited. Not only that but my partner has now started getting sick as well. Even when we have complained before about the standard of the service the unprofessional manager came over, with no apology and with her breasts completely on show. Very inappropriate for a restaurant manager! We have visited Zizzi and Ginos recently and been very satisfied at the fantastic delicious food and service. We will definitely be avoiding Prezzo from now on and visiting those instead!

I agree with this. When Prezzo used to be near the Witch and Dragon, around the other side of town, we never had fault with it. the staff were helpful and the food was good. it was a quiet affair. when we tried it after it moved to the brayford and became twice the size, the attitude of the staff was appauling, the food was cold, and my partner got horrendous food poisoning for the next 2 days. We will never be visitng the lincoln prezzo again!
