Kashi

Kashi Japanese Restaurant Lincoln Sushi

Kashi is Lincoln’s only Japanese restaurant. Located in Waterside North, it serves both traditional and modern Japanese food.

A sizeable, open plan restaurant, Kashi quietly plays Japanese music to add to the mood. Dishes are served with conventional Japanese cutlery and crockery, and food ranges from soup to noodles, rice, vegetables and meat, all freshly prepared on the premises.  On offer to drink is a range of cold and hot drinks, and alcoholic beverages.

Also available is authentic Japanese green tea, with free refills. It’s name, Kashi, which is Japanese for ‘riverside’, is fitting for the restaurant’s location, as it is adjacent to Lincoln’s river. The restaurant is open Monday to Saturday 12-3pm and then again from 5.30pm -11pm , and on Sunday, 12pm-10pm.

I used to love this restaurant, but recently it has really gone down hill. My first negative experience came with an early evening visit, before the restaurant became busy. Firstly the manager, who was waiting on us was rude and abrupt. we were shoved onto the end of a table in a dark corner and made to sit at the end of the table. We were then ignored in preference of other customers and our food brought out at different times. Upon requesting a 'doggy bag' box, we were refused, despite other customers having them handed out. We all ordered the full taster menu and wine, so no cheap orders. We were then half way through paying, to then have to wait whilst another table finished paying, before the manager came back to us to finish our transaction. Thinking this a bad trip, I ventured back 1 month later. Our waiter upon serviing drinks, tipped wine all over us, smashing glass's and bottles across us, without an apology. Mopping up our wet clothes, we were ushered down to the end of the table. My starter arrived after everyone else had finished theirs. Chicken... Black and burned on the outside and raw in the middle. We then waited forever for any survice and not offered any more drinks. I then had to demand not to pay for my burnt chicked. Again with no apology, just an argument. I will not be venturing there again and I suggest others think twice. Really gone down hill.

Outstanding Sushi restaurant. We're really lucky to have such a place in Lincoln. Try the dragon - not to be missed!

I'm a fan of Japanese food so I was thrilled when a Japanese restaurant finally opened in Lincoln. The food is great and very reasonably priced, staff are friendly and the nice atmosphere makes for a really good time. It's a shame there aren't more Japanese restaurants in Lincoln!

Visited Kashi for the first time yesterday. The food was fantastic and very reasonably priced. The staff were very friendly and helpful. All in all one of the best dining experiences I have had in Lincoln for a long time.
