Chimichanga
Chimichanga sits beside the Brayford and specialises in traditional Mexican food. Their menu suits those who want to have a quiet lunch, or a full three course meal.
In the restaurant the surroundings are stylish and modern and have a South American vibe. The food is freshly prepared by the chef, and the menu offers a variety of appetisers and Mexican specialities, the meals are also good for those who like a bit of spice! The bar has a full wine and beer list, and cocktails are available. You can even buy the restaurants very own cocktail: ‘Chimichanga Fizz’.

Lincolnista Review
Walking into Chimichangas, you’re immediately greeted with an exotic vibe and an electric atmosphere, which makes a nice change from the usual everyday restaurant. If you have booked a table you are taken straight to your seat, or if you have to wait you are guided to a comfy sofa area.
When seated the waiters are very friendly and helpful, although some have strong accents which could be difficult to understand at times.
Looking at the extensive drinks menu, the choice of cocktails in fish bowls seemed too much of an opportunity to miss! On the menu, all the Mexican favourites were there, and having the Nachos to share, they proved to be a good appetiser. You are given a generous helping of crispy tortilla chips with chicken, covered in spicy jalapeños, and all cooled down with a generous helping of sour cream.
Next came the main, settling for the chicken and chorizo pasta bake it may not have been the most exciting choice, but it did excite the taste buds! The food was very well made, and had just the right amount of tang, to keep you on your toes, but to not overpower your senses.
The night couldn’t be over without ending with a sweet pudding. The chocolate brownies were very rich, but satisfying and meant the meal ended on a high.
Overall, the price is very reasonable, and the food is definitely up to standard. Having the great surroundings and food served up in unique ways means this restaurant is definitely worth a mention.

Review by Sally AllbrightSubmitted on September 9th, 2011 at 7:12 pmChimichangas was a nice change from the usual Italian/burger fare found on the Brayford but we were quite disappointed by the experience. The meals were huge and there was a lot of choice but were all extremely expensive, especially the nachos to start which, when ordered without meat, were quite insubstantial. There was no vegetarian sharing option. The side of onion rings were so greasy we couldn't eat most of them and there was a pool of oil in the bottom of the bowl. The waitress we had was quite rude and rushed us into ordering, even rolling her eyes when we asked about removing meat from the dishes and making us feel really uncomfortable. The restaurant was busy but lacked atmosphere and didn't have the fun Mexican vibe that Tequilas has in the Bailgate. We left the restuarant full but unenthused, and, at £38 for a meal of a sharing starter and main for 2 without alcoholic drinks, a bit ripped off.
