Lincolnista Review

When you’re out and about in Lincoln, there’s nothing better than to relax with a cup of tea and some home made cakes when you stop for a break.

As Stokes High Bridge Café is built over a river, this gives the place a lovely idyllic view of the Brayford and being located in the centre of the High Street, this means it’s not far to walk after shopping in the City.

Inside the Cafe, it is very traditional and you feel as if you have stepped back in time to the 1900’s. The hand made cakes are out on display on every floor, and they look so tasty you can’t help but want to try one!

Having two dining floors, it makes it easier to find a seat as the Cafe can get quite busy in peak times. Sitting at a bench around a table, you can look out onto the high street and watch the bustle while eating your lunch.

Having the sandwiches, you could taste that they had been freshly prepared and the service was very friendly and complemented the meal. Trying the home made cakes, it’s easy to see why the shop boasts about their afternoon tea, and they looked so good you almost felt bad for eating them!

The Stokes Cafe is definitely a place to take your Grandma or Granddad, as it really does fit in with the traditional side of Lincoln It’s also a great place to stop for a cup of tea and is just the thing you need after a long days shopping.
