Pulse, Ritzy, and JJ Nightclub
Pulse, Ritzy and JJ’s (Jumpin’ Jaks) is a 3 floor nightclub, which also hosts many student nights.
This large clubbing venue is on Silver Street, just over the road from Wetherspoons, slightly off the High Street.
A 3 storey venue that gives party-goers a choice of where to party. Each floor provides something different for everyone, depending on the night of the week. You will find that they each take on one different music genre to suit everybody. You can walk from one floor to another whenever you feel like it, for a bit of a change of scene, each have a dancefloor, and atleast one bar. JJ’s is the located on the ground floor, Ritzy’s in the middle and Pulse above. They hold loads of student nights, with drinks deals and discounted entry. Sometimes the events include all floors, and other events are specific to just one. They also welcome party bookings on their website.

Every Friday a whole load of students make their way to Pulse Nightclub for the big Superbull night. I hadn’t been to one of these nights since it moved from Scream on the waterfront, so I thought I should try it out again. It was probably the best opportunity to go when my friend decided she was coming to visit for the weekend. This night is known as “Lincoln’s biggest student party” so I thought it would represent our student life best. After dolling ourselves up in sequins and lace, and having a few pre-drinks at my flat, we were ready to face the chilly walk(or strut) over to Pulse. We got there at about 10:30pm but it didn’t really start filling up until 45 minutes later. So we got the drinks in early before it started to really live up to it’s reputation… The entire club was filled by what seemed to be nearly the whole student population of Lincoln, and their Vodka Redbull was only a pound. Everyone was buzzing on the dance floor, singing and dancing to the tunes the DJ was playing, which was anything from cheesy through to dance music. After having quite a few rounds of Vodbulls, I did end up requesting the “Fresh Prince of Bel Air” repeatedly, but it didn’t get played the entire time we were there! It’s always fun having a drink with your friends, dancing away in a way that you always think looks sexy after a few, and strutting around the club to wherever you’re going. At 2am we decided it was time to go home as we had danced as much as we could, and our heels were killing our feet! I worked out once I was home, I’d only spent to a tenner, and I’d managed to have an amazing night. And for my friend, she said she’d really enjoyed herself, and it was much better than other University nights she’d been to!
