Lincolnista Review
Every Wednesday night Walkabout has a special 2-4-1 student offer that isn’t really just aimed at students, everyone gets the deal. If you’re a bit strapped for cash and fancy a bit of a mid-week drinking session with your friends, that will undoubtedly lead to hours of embarrassing dancing and cheesy song requests then Walkabout is definitely the place for you.
It’s pretty quiet before midnight, so if you want to get the most of your drinking and pre-dance preparation done at the venue aim to be there for around 11pm. The drinks are the usual club price, around £3 for a bottle of Budweiser; mixers are not much more expensive. A-Bombs – a shot of absinthe mixed with an energy drink – are £3.50, and while it isn’t the Absinthe our continental brothers enjoy that supposedly makes you see a green fairy flying around, it’s still pretty strong stuff and I can guarantee after a few rounds of those on a Wednesday and you’ll be bouncing off the walls. Trust me, you’ll need the energy.
The DJ plays pretty much every type of popular music; from hip hop to rock, cheesy 80s classics to clubbing anthems. The DJ takes requests all night, if you have a craving to get your groove on to a bit of Bon Jovi, the DJ will probably have it, or if you fancy some hardcore rave tunes, request everyone’s favourite, the Prodigy. With the stage being right next to the DJ, it’s a simple case of weaving between dancers and giving your request.
Walkabout is a fantastic place to spend the night, closing at 2am, you can bet you’ll have an awesome time here.
