The Green Dragon
The timber-framed historic pub, has at least twelve real ales on tap at anytime. It serves locally sourced food, from pies to a Sunday carvery.
The Green Dragon was made in the 16th century and it holds Lincoln’s first micro-brewery, where they make their very own ales. It is situated on Broadgate ,which is close to the main shopping area in Lincoln.
There are three floors in this dark beamed pub- ground floor contains the brewery bar, on street level a lounge area and thirdly a party venue. The lounge area has sofas and tables which are useful for a quick drink, lunch or evening meals.

Lincolnista Review
A twinkle from the lights entangled around the vibrant, living tree touching it’s way towards the dark beams. Spooky history and creaky wooden floorboards with more stories to tell then we could ever imagine. My idea of a cosy English pub at Christmas time!
After walking inside the historic pub, I knew The Green Dragon was the perfect place to hold a large, merry Christmas meal. We booked 4 weeks in advance to make sure this popular choice was grasped by our taste buds as well.
As the time came I couldn’t wait to get my Christmas dress on to experience the warmth from the yummy homemade cooking.
On arrival we were welcomed merrily and of course we automatically tottered to the bar for a drink and chat. The atmosphere beamed of Christmas spirit, as it was full to the brim of other partygoers.
We made our way to the upstairs party venue, which again was an example of English beauty exposed at it’s finest. For starters I had crispy pork with caramelised onion chutney. It was luxuries with an almost velvet feel to it and it was just enough to stop your stomach rumbling further more!
For mains, I had the traditional choice of turkey of course. However, I didn’t realise it was a carvery whilst pre-booking. The meat was dry and the roast potatoes were like rocks, which are a few of the many disappointing traits of a carvery. The service was exceedingly pleasing, but this still didn’t justify my miserable main!
The scene, the atmosphere and the warmth of The Green Dragon fits in with everyone’s perfect dream of a jolly Christmas meal.
