Treat your girlfriend like your X- Box or she will break your copy of COD :(
“Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (COD6 MW2) Sales Figures Reached More than $1B!”
In the past men ignored women for cars or other women, but this was before the X-Box 360 was in peoples lives. Console gaming has grown into a phenomenon since day one, but when Call of Duty 6 Modern Warfare 2 (or just COD for short) was released, things got a little serious.
Trust me I was at GameStation at midnight for the game release.
I was abused by drunk girls for waiting in a line to buy a video game. It was a sad moment in my life.
They don’t understand, to them it’s a game with guns and shooting, but to the people who play it, it’s a lifestyle and a masochistic ritual to prove how our skills are superior to others. Hours upon hours are spent on the game, ask anyone who plays it and they will tell you why.
It’s so beautiful, it is so realistic sometimes you really have to subconsciously pray that you aren’t being affected by the realistic nature of how you keep shooting and stabbing everyone who gets in your way.
University students will neglect deadlines because of COD, boyfriends will not spend time with their girlfriends because of COD, and now because of this universal abbreviation, the poor fish that shares the name “Cod” is starting to slip from peoples memories. It has got to that level where if you think of the X-Box console as an electronic finger, then COD is definitely the diamond ring that is wrapped around it. They go hand in hand like game play and addiction.
There are facebook fan groups dedicated to the cultural explosion of COD, and you know things are serious when facebook fan groups start being created. Below is a tiny sample from a hilarious list you can find on just about any male page on facebook.
“Hi I’m a Cod fish, why am I so popular all of a sudden?”
“Don’t cheat on your girlfriend or this will happen to your COD disc”
“Join to see how a boy proved true love by breaking his COD disc to show that his girlfriend was more important”
“The legend that chose buying COD with his valentines day money”
Hate it or love it COD will be affect your life in some shape or form.
Did you honestly think Pokemon was going to be the last game frenzy?
We are happy that it wasn’t too.
