Wednesday, 31st March 2010Team Lincolnista would like to welcome you to the launch of the only comprehensive online guide to the City of Lincoln. Working together with local businesses we offer residents, students and tourists something completely different to that available anywhere else!
Firstly the name, what’s that all about?
Well the latin suffix -ista of Italian origin has long been used to indicate an expert or follower of whatever term it follows, examples of which would be- Fashionista - a dedicated disciple of fashion Barista - used to describe an expert in coffee And now Lincolnista - experts in everything Lincoln.
So what can you expect from Lincolnista?
We wanted to revolutionise Lincoln and advertise it for what it is, a fast growing, cosmopolitan city in the country. An array of fantastic new bars, clothes boutiques and chic apartments have been springing up across Lincoln in the past few years dragging our sleepy cathedral city into a new contemporary world. With 13.3 million visitors coming to Lincoln each year we decided it was about time someone offered local businesses that survive on tourism a place to market themselves online; as well as offering a fantastic online hub for locals and tourists alike to get all the information they’re ever going to need to enjoy a night out or a weekend stay in Lincoln.
So it is just a collection of adverts then?
Absolutely not. Lincolnista isn’t just a business directory like the rest of the websites you might’ve seen. Our team of over 20 reporters and writers not only give our review on bars, restaurants, hotels and businesses in Lincoln but we give you the opportunity to do the same. We also offer free membership which entitles members to the latest news on events and happenings from the city.
We think that Lincoln has got more to offer than even the most dedicated Lincolnite might realise and it’ll be our job bring you all the hidden gems. So that’s the introductions out of the way!
